Hell yeah. Had lots of folks giggling at the poepol showing up with a diesel Figo, but we had many more giggles on the track
Dude, you have some very good lines and we were well impressed with your lines. As we came out of the pits waiting for the engine temps to get to operating levels (grey F30 328 BMW) you overtook us... we were like, wait what.... LOL So well done, showed some serious skill and think I was most impressed with your driving.

Regarding the M135i driver, he was a professional race car driver and his car is pushing 260+ wkw

@Class numbers on cars - maybe assign drivers to classes (colour coded arm bands?), I was lapping about 20s faster than my wife in her car.
Explains alot, impressive nevertheless.

Thanks Max

As I passed you guys I was wondering what you guys were up to, but it all made sense once you guys actually started giving it beans later - could see you okes knew what you were donig once you gave it beans.

I think the biggest giggle we had was when we were chasing down a Astra Coupe. We made huge ground on him coming through the sweep at the bottom of the mineshaft. He pulled a gap on the straight again, then immediately ducked into the pits. I'd love to say it was the thought of me passing him that brought that decision about lol. Looks that way on the video hehe

I could honestly not believe how much speed that fiesta carried through the corners. As we overtook you guys my brother went "Holy sh*t, its a diesel"

He's seriously talented, and was great to watch. He probably should have been in the expert class though, as he was doing very low 2 minute times every lap, on a consistent basis, in his daily. It even still had the baby seat in.

I also saw him and Barney have an altercation in pit lane, because he overtook Barney on the outside through a corner.

Silver or White SLK?

I cant remember (i think silver) but the roof was down and the guy driving had an open faced helmet and was unshaven with the biggest smile every time.

Ya I couldn't believe how well it stuck in the corners, especially with everything being as per the factory bar the rims and tyres. It feels like the arse wants to come around a bit, but it was really predictable and easy to catch

It was such a hoot - get on the straight, flat out through turn 1, still flatout through 2, still flat through that kink and hard on the brakes. Have a cup of tea on that little straight, flatout through the right-hander and then hard on the brakes again. Flat out through the esses, exit at 120km/h, arrive at the top of Wesbank and we're doing 110km/h lol

Would've given some teeth for antoher 10kw and a power band longer than 1500rpm

You have no idea how much I enjoyed that car on the track, and how gutted I was when it started making funny noises and I decided to park for the day

Man what a epic event.....

I arrived early and parked with miggz, decided to go out in the intermediate class as it was my second event at this track. Last year I managed a 2.24 so wanted to see if I could dip below the 2.20s.

First season second lap and bang a 2.14 and next lap another 2.14..... Could not believe my eyes when my passenger showed me the times......the rest of the day I tried to beat my time but it was not on the cards....tried my best but I need more grip....so next time semis will be the answer.

Anyways was a epic event big ups to all involved had a blast on the track and pushed my little polo to the limit.....

Was nice meeting some off the guys....miggz...boosted...and that insane lumina off pitzi....man the sound!!!!

Some pics.....just because....

The tires were crying for mercy....

Hope we get to do an event like this soon....

I never finished 1 lap, went into the sand and where I got back onto the track there was a little step down which cracked my left front wheel! Oh well thats life and thankfully only the rim was damaged. Wheel is in for repairs so hopefully will have it back on Wednesday if all goes well.

Here's to next year, hopefully I can get a decent set of laps in

Epic epic fun, thanks guys.

Regret to report that the mk2 was not faultless - the overheating issue is long gone, belted it round 5 hot laps behind the G7R of RGM with Graham Nathan giving Steve Green lessons and oil temp didn't get over 130 BUT the wastegate got sticky and I think sticky half way as is sounded wide open but was having massive boost creep, saw it going 2.0bar occasionally then had to back off and let it cool down.

Race track app records my fastest lap of the day at 2:00:80

I was really bummed I didn't get the challenge car there but it turned out a really good time with the mk2. - Tyres be **** now thanks to the very limited front camber adjustment on that thing.

Was an epic battle that! Thanks bud!

Thank you for the event guys, VWCSA always do these properly!

Glad you're okay 9000rpm.
Was an awesome battle. That dam thing of yours puts the power to the ground very well.

I got irritated as it was my last session and first time I could push on for the day so was hoping for clear track. Once past DSG was unhappy and had to call it quits. Was still fun though.
