Just so you know it was both drivers first day ever on Kyalami.....actually first experience on any track for that matter, so its understandable why they were cautious and maybe slow. Maybe someone can relay the message for me to the other forums so the "experts" can give the guy a break.
Ja, I was quite surprised to see Jerry and Angus racing somewhere that required breaking and turning
That car has was more pace in it, I'm sure the drivers will get there soon. No point driving beyond your abilities and totalling a properly built car.
I'd like to see Angus's Corsa out there, but as I recall it's around 400kW so that won't like the bends.
Fantastic, well organized event. Thank you very much indeed VWCSA & organizers. We had so much fun; great bunch of lads while the on-track sportsmanship was outstanding.
Thanks also Kruch for some great pics.
I'd additionally like to extend my appreciation to Brucet & Kruch for their support (although on this forum, all have been kind). You are correct regarding our (Jerry & myself) level of 'racing' experience. We are getting to know the car (& track) and certainly, the last thing we want to do is write the car off being stupid asses...
Indeed, we were a constant target throughout the day however we weren't particularly phased by this, comes with the territory. I personally managed a best of 2:05.891 (the car is capable of much more, in the hands of a pro).
Thanx again to the organizers; it was an absolutely epic event, best I've ever had, and beats drag-racing 6-love! Much obliged.
