I'm not trying to cause a stir here but I agree with Miggz on this.
I was also under the impression dyno day was part of the event as such.
The words of a comm member was because the dyno broke the prize giving was cancelled?
So I assume the intent was there.
I do agree that u had a tough choice to make under the circumstances
But guys like us made the effort to prep the cars and get their early for the event.
How many cars didn't get to dyno?

Anyway take nothing away for an epic dubrun, it was my first and will not be my last.
A huge thanks to all involved and it's successful events like this that will see me as a paid member very soon.

Here's to Dubrun15... I cannot wait

We'll done guys!!

Dyno day morning was organised for JHB guys to get coastal readings, not a power compo outright.
They were about to close entries for the dyno so there were only a handful of cars that didn't run.
Next year if everyone is keen for a dyno power competition we can do it again with trophies/prizes etc

Thanks to everyone who attended the dyno, was a great morning regardless

Yip. First I heard of it being a competition. There were 6 cars that weren't able to run due to the breakdown. 2 of them were Durban cars.

If it were a comp we would have had to be more fair with the classes as well. Can't really have Miggz's farting S3 up against stock turbo 1.8T cars.

Personnaly, I still think Pitzi broke the dyno. It just took the dyno 5 hours to wake up from the shock and figure out it was broken.

I think it's worth saying that it's something that both the
KZN and Jhb comm overlooked.

Apologies.

"K07" is a running joke because once a guy with a GTI IV told us wanted to twin turbo his car with K03 + K04 = K07.
That guy didn't list any mods on his sheet, I found him after and asked what he was running and he told me "T3/T4", if you still beat him with stock turbo then well  to his BT

Again, it was just for guys to run their cars down here and get coastal numbers

Next year how about a DBN vs GP/FS dyno off? We'll enforce the classes and inspect cars for nitrous tanks in boot.

a Dbn vs GP dyno day sounds like fun. can we have a 4wd dyno though. unplugging the haldex to disconnect the back wheels will give a higher reading cause of less loss and some of us dont have the option to unplug Image
