Just find it hilarious that people can screw up something so simple, after 3 days its still being edited daily.Sinbad wrote:You can do better? Put this skills to use and get your ass onto the committee.Pitzi-NC wrote:Ok so these results change daily?

This from the same people that say our government is incompetent...hey?
And no, "you can do it better so stop complaining and run for commitee" sounds like something Jackson Mthembu would say.

Pitzi geez it's a little mistake, How does it affect you?
Now that your not number 1 in class M over the 1km sprint does it make any difference in your life? Are you really trying to have the highest points and win something?

How difficult can it be to take details off a form, onto an excel spreadsheet and then enter the speeds according to the number?
Anyways, all is cool

Re: VWCSA Drag Day: 27 October 2013 - Final results page 10
Pitzi, How's about next time you stand in that tower the whole day, trying to record all the necessary details within 5 seconds!
Its not quite as easy as you imagine, the WHOLE day i sat there trying to type in the details as quick as possible!
And then you still have to keep getting up to check the amounts on the screen, or else people complain that the commentator is reading them wrong.
How's about we have an event where we don't record the times at all, and you can just get people to listen for your results from the commentator, I'm sure they won't mess that up, its not that hard remember.
Its easy for you to complain, you pitch up, do one or two runs, and leave... you forget that we were there from 730, and only left at 4. Recording times the whole day, with a 30 minute break in between the 1/4 mile and 1km.
And the only reason it took 2 updates, is because the people that requested changes didnt all come through on day 1.
We can never win with you, either we take too long to put the results up, or there's always something wrong.
I made an effort to have the results up on the same day, to keep people happy, even though i was sitting on barely 3 hours sleep that weekend, yet once again, Pitzi finds a reason to complain.
Seriously, if the events are so bad, don't come.
Give us some slack! or like Sinbad said, get on the committee and experience it yourself before complaining. We don't tell you how to build generators!

Get people to pre-register and pay, get the list ready with ample time. Then all you have to deal with is the people that come on the day. Ample time to know who's a club member and who's not. Instead of processing 65 entry forms on the day, you process 25 for people that come without registering beforehand. SOCSA did it, BMW Club did it, and it works.
If you buy a generator from me and there are issues, I welcome criticism as it's what makes us improve over time.
VW Club committee on the other hand, same issues every event, every year. Criticise and all you get is people standing behind corners and saying "then you do it better than us next year".
Come next year, rinse and repeat. If one was gonna run a business in this manner, you would close down.
Start listening to criticism and find better ways of doing this. I've been to events organized by at least 6 other clubs, once results are out those are the final results. And that's it. 5 different results in 3 days is ridiculous.
Take it, don't take it, but above all don't take it personally.
