Well done on a well organised event. Some things to learn from for the next one I hope.

Queue jumpers been one of them.

I was pretty miffed. Didnt come close to my personal goals, but still a great day out.

Definitely learnt alot. lols.

Agreed, we will need to put some measure in place for future events of this nature, as the queue jumping does get a bit out of hand.

Your car was still hauling Ian, really sad i didn't get a chance to take a spin in it, but was crazy busy the whole day.

Just gives you more drive to get it working better next time.

I'll admit, I queue jumped once but only because a guy in his Mk5 GTI (Probably K04) had no one to race with, So I filled the gap :fear:

I just want to thank everyone that came through yesterday and the comm for the hard work. I think it was a great event and we all enjoyed it.

First off, I would like to apologise to everyone that was there for the following:

1: That you guys had to wait in the morning for us to start.
2: For the Halaal guys, For not having suitable catering there for you guys.

Firstly, we did arrange for our usual caterer to be there to cater for the Halaal guys, But at around 7 on our way to the track just as we passed through the Daspoort tunnel (wrooooom), We got a call from them saying they wont be able to make it. Im not to up to speed on the details, But if we had a bit more time we would have tried to make a plan.

I was suuuuuper annoyed in the morning with the ODI crew, After knowing about our intentions weeks before and confirming in the morning that we want to start at 8, When we told them we want to get going all of a sudden they had to go get petrol for the genny that ran the timing equipment, which took a good 40min, After that they still had to test the timing equipment which wasn't set up properly. This I feel should have been done before we got there, But we eventually got going at around 9:15.

So sorry to the guys that would have liked to get in runs in the cooler morning temps. I know I was one of them, After this I didn't even want to participate any more. I insisted, well I actually told the owner that we will be there till 4 instead of 3, He had a bit of a story but I had none of it. I eventually had a few 1/4 mile runs and actually had a blast against the other TDI guys.

We had a few other issues on the day to deal with, But the comm worked hard and we all had fun. All in all I think we had a awesome day of racing.

On a side note, this to me has gotta be the event of the year for the club.
I'm sure with better advertising, it can pull even greater numbers.

Agreed, got seriously pissed off at one stage.

While we roasted in the sun for 45 minutes at a time in the queue, Mr E63 would cruise up to the starting line and have his runs. Not cool at all.

Another guy in a red Mk6 GTI wanted to jump the queue in front of me, I refused and he forced himself behind me instead, and having an attitude on top of it.

Sorry oke, I'm not in the mood to let you in when there are 4 cars between me and my running my last run of the day after soaking in the sun in a long queue. if you wanna run, join the queue like we all did.

Can't blame the organizers for this, rather people's complete lack of manners and decency.

The queue can be well managed if there is a system in place.
