Locking the brakes up into the last corner on every lap and then wheelspinning it half way down the pit straight is not fast neither good for the car. Too bad we don't all go to the track to impress you, panic :-) no matter what you might think :tosser:

Didn't lock up the brakes coming into any corners... just put the car sideways to scrub off speed. I WAS playing silly buggers at that last corner though. Also wasn't wheelspinning half-way down any of the straights, not sure the car is even capable of that.

Where was your car, by the way?

Tim this pea-brain was sitting on the side of the track trying to impress the women with his "knowledge" of driving. I find it shameful how club members who should be complimenting each other, rather show their sad character and insult. I have been reading all the comments after our great day on the track and guys I am disgusted!
Very few drivers had the balls to join us in the advanced group. Does nobody watch their rear-view mirror? ALL THE TIME? :bang:

The Stig your driving was perfect and saw you coming every time. Where? In my f**cking mirrors!

Seeing I m worked up now the fool in the White Volvo C70 who was back-flagged decided to stop on the track next to the marshal while I was flat out behind him. WTF? don't even try explaining that move bum-hole. :moon:

I really believe we should have more track days which will give all the future Stigs more experience. Zwartkop is great as the chief marshal there takes no ****.

To the organizers well done. G-Spot thanks for my no.46. Went looking for you to pay my debt but you were nowhere to be found. Next time with interest.

Swopped my front tires to the rear as my fronts took a lot of beating, heavy car will do that. They are fine at the back though, a bit iof wheelspin and the heat-smudge should wear off.

Brakes also took it in their stride, I had a bit of brake fade at the end of the second session and was worried that I cooked them. however they are still as good as new. credit to the GT Powerbrake upgrade using the OEM calipers. OEM kit wouldn't have lasted 2 laps.

Looking back on the track day the car really handles better than I thought. Yes it's got body roll galore but it handles pretty well considering the size of the thing. With the clutch sorted and a bit more experience of Kyalami lines I'm sure it could knock off another 5-6 seconds over what I got.

It's pretty decent. But the go-pro's by no means are a decent lap timer. I know you were driving with my Dad in the benz wagon quite a bit, but he was doing 2:30's ...

I got 3 fast laps in when I had the Go pro and the one was 2:11 and the other 2:12 something then the one was slower due to traffic. Next year I will try time properly and will hopefully have semi's

I drove in the same sessions as your dad, once he was in his wagon and the other in your SLK. That 320cdi is dam quick on the straight I could not beleive it. In the corners though I think the wagon was a little heavy so he was struggling there I think

He doesn't push it hard in the corners. More of a straight line specialist my dad. Think we should bring him to a drag event!

Ah 2boosted very late saw that you did reply. I submit photgraphic evidence of said wheelspinning.

And i was driving this on the day

I drove challenge for 5 year, owned a pretty powerfull turbo mk2 and have done many driver training days. I have a pretty good clue of what happens behind a steering wheel of a golf. I think you abuse the car and you can go a lot faster with the correct technique. But if you were doing what you were on purpose rather than of ignorance then i suppose there is not much i can say.

Wow, ok :driving:

I sprung for a turbo that is truly far too large for track racing - makes the balance between bog and wheelspin rather frustrating at times. Boost doesn't come off the peg until 4500. Works great for drag-racing though. Hill-climbs are terrible, gymkhana is not even an option.

Next track day I'll try to have a few composed laps - if only to convince you that I can ;-)
