Re: GOLF MKII 2 DOOR .:R32 DSG 4WD - *VICKI* SOLD

Taz0 you are the man. Considering your history with this car I think you are the only guy in SA that could complete this project the way VDUBGP envisioned it. That said I know you will add some of your flavour and that's awesome. I'm glad that this car will be completed. It's the reason I signed up ...

Re: golf 1 1100 engine rebuild

I think you are going to have a hard time finding parts. But phone a few places and see. Otherwise you drop in newer motor. You have to move engine mounts and gearbox links etc etc. Read: it's a major undertaking to change it to the newer type motor. It can be done, but it's not an easy DIY. Parts ...

With the cabinet reshuffle, the mid term budget speech and the Rand doing badly, we are in for a few fuel price hikes in the coming months.
Cabinet reshuffle? You mean Zuma greasing up the treasury for another a** raping.

Congrats! But the type 44 was phased out in 1990. It can't be a '94 model. In fact, the revised 500 (C4) was facelifted to the first A6 around that time. You probably have the PR engine in there? Yes a PR engine. As a matter of interest, I came across a '96 model 500SEL the other day and it was ide...

We all know that most phones and mobile devices have had predictive text typing since Y2K, my pet hate is that there are still people out there who haven't figured out how to use it. Perhaps the dictionary function is difficult to use or maybe it doesn't know how to spell words written in "Idio...

Ok so I haven't updated this thread in some time. It's a shame that I haven't done these things yet, work commitments have been the main reason. Now that I am unemployed I have dug all my parts out of the garage and have started doing some repairs and maintenance. 1st up was to get rid of the horrib...

Nice guide.

One thing, I normally pull the steering wheel space sleeve off separately to avoid damage to the bearing and housing.

I saw a video of the caddy Chucker was talking about. That thing was maaaaad. It can be done, true Can you do it? Well that depends. How good is your welding and fabrication skill? Can you do car wiring? Lastly decide how much time you are prepared to invest into the project. The aforementioned Cadd...

2.6i 5 cylinder T3 bus will tow a caravan and a boat at the same time. Those motors have massive torque. The gearbox is also setup with towing in mind with a very short ratio 1st gear specifically for pulling away with a load. Driving normally I almost never use 1st gear. The belief that a T3 is not...

Whenever there is a blown headgasket get the head skimmed to clean as it was probably warped. *Head gaskets don't just blow for no reason*. Agreed. Have the radiator checked for flow and leaks. Otherwise replace it. New can be had for under R700. Also have a close look at the water pump and both pl...
