We are going to revive the VW Club newsletter to be sent out to all paid-up, club members on a regular basis with information relating to club events, both past and present, event results, information relating to the club, etc. As the newsletter is for all of you guys, what would you like to see:

Events
Results
Club Information

Membership points standing / attendance - I have no idea how that works!

Maybe feature members' project cars.

Have a members' ride featured.

If you have an upcoming event, i.e. Gerotek, publish a map, what is going to happen there, what you have to remember or bring along with you, some tips on driving on the track.

Maybe some tips and tricks on i.e. polishing, cleaning, servicing, etc

Or feature a workshop / custom shop.

i have one idea?

How to: Like the scary grandma conversion, brake upgrade's. maybe get Golwagen or some of the suppliers to add things we will be interested in parts wise.(Bring the news letter and receive 10% discount on whatever?) basic setups and easy DIY things. Oh and a LOVE AND GOSSIP Column so the So's can find it interesting as well(NOT!!!!)

Sorry one more... JOKES.. VW VS OPEL JOKES.. they never get old... get the best ones from the Jokes folder and add them in?

When I was a member of the old GTI Club in the 90's they had the following in the GTeye.

Editors word.
Technical article.
Overview and results of recent events with a few photos.
Small article about recent VW Challenge race.
A write-up on one of the members on his car, where he live, hobbies, etc.
A page with all the sponsors of the club.
A member letter section.

That's about all I can remember.

Got another idea (from my mother haha)

* How about some safety tips when racing / how to make sure your car will pass scrutineering.

* What to do when your car catches fire, or spins out

*Driving tips

You are a member until Dec 07 or Jan 08, not sure which one. Anyway, you will get member club card with your number, and you also have a msa restricted lisence. That lisence is valid only for club events like VW Club, Wesbank and so on.

I'll send you the bill later for all these info.

Thats end of jan 08, renewal fee is alsow less than the first joining fee....

I did the newsletter for 2 years and its a kak load of work, good luck with it. It is something a club does need.

I will be writing race reports on all the VW Challenge races and I would be happy to forward them onto you, if u want to include them. Also if you want any racing related articles I can help out, of get hold of someone who can.
