Need help

Hey guys I need some help I have a Citi golf 2001 model 1.6 carb engine the guy I bought it from put at the time he told me 1.8 injected head on the car was fine with alot of power also only to learn it's a 1.6i golf life head I see there's a increase in fuel usage low power especially up hills I changed and put a new carb on the dizzy was finished replaced that did the belts put new and also did timing including dizzy timing still I feel it's heavy and also lack power and also the head has a blank off plate where injectors supposed to go to suit for carb when I do abit of distance I'm getting oil falling onto the manifold the car almost caught on fire a mech did a compression test he just told me it's 600 and 700 Highest bare with me guys this my first car but I know there's a big drop in power lately please help
