Have you tried checking if the above mentioned nuts are tigtened on the shock....?
Im going to try this first, if this doesnt work then ill drive with it this way

Ah that - Yes, you knock that cap up and underneath that is the nut we talk about. Mine didn't have those.
AaronMc:
Sorted. The metal cap sits over the nut shown in the picture in the thread before this.. You just tap it upwards with a chisel and hammer to remove it then gain access to the nut. Its all quite tight but worth doing for peace of mind!
Wouldnt of had a clue without this thread so thanks!
mk4_matt:
you can see that i could just move this 'cap' up and down
Removed the cap
[img]that right there is the 'nut' everyone is talking about,..
So remove the cap then below that is the nut, remove nut and put some locktite and tighten the nut completely and fit back.
Im going to try this one
Use locktite on that screwcap and retread it in- it will help- i have the same set up in my car for more than 3yrs now and no noise...that being said- i havent dropped the car way low as i need to fit in shortened droplinks..
PoloGTIman wrote:So you did the above with your coilovers? did yours also have the cap that needs to come off first?
Yep i did- infact Dion aka Ghost- i met with him and he showed me what to do-just take a flat screwdriver and tap the edge of the cap and it will pop right out...as for opening the treaded cap i used a circlip plier and when i tightened it i used a punch just to make sure it was as tight as possible
Awesome buddy! will see when i can check mine as i have checked everything and everything is tight so might just be that. and as stated when i fitted the coilies, the one's shaft was abit loose being able to move side to side so hope this fix the issue!

Before i fitted the coilies the one was loose-that when i called Deon and asked maybe if it was defective or something-then i proceeded to go the loctite route- luckily for me i didnt install initially- its ball ache to remove and refit- its not a hard graaf just time consuming..
I have the same problem but with my vmaxx coilies but in the rear of my car ,same thing nothing over bumps and only when I drive over a uneven road or slitely bumpy road does it make the noise
Maybe check the shock, Make sure the nut is properly tightened that holds the shaft to the mount on top. Had this issue after fitment and found the one nut wasnt properly tightened.

Whats the easiest way to sort it out?
I wanted to try alignment again...
Would I be able to do it myself without removing just the tyres and tightening the bolt?
I am having no the same issues, got static art coilovers in. Everything has been checked and tightened, torqued to spec and still the same issues. Same with my other 2 friends I am starting to think it’s a polo thing at this point and just enjoying the static life.
Can’t be jacking the car up every 5mins LOOL. Wheel alignment has been done as well and they couldn’t pick anything up.
