Mk5 Gti Key

Post by Fat-Cat »

Hi,

My wife used the car this afternoon to northgate mall, as she normally does. Lock the car and check the door handles, both back and front.

She comes back, she unlocks the car. Nothing happens, she was able to lock door and unlock the boot But, still unable to unlock doors

Turns out car guards had chased away some peeps who looked suspicious. The unlock signal on the key seems jammed and luckily enough I have a spare key.

How do I sort out the damaged key?

Thanks

Hey dude, battery is probably flat in the key. Start there...

Try YouTube, I've seen some videos of how to program a key without a computer.

Hey dude,

Checked the keyhole for any damages bud?
So the spare key works fine to unlock the doors? Then you would just need a locksmith to re-program that remote.

Most of the time if you just start the car after manually opening the doors it will re-align the key with the immobiliser.
If not then back to vw to code the key.
