Hi guys,
Today while driving my low oil pressure light came on, only when stopping and low km/h.
Oil and oil filter was changed about a month ago Shell Helix 15W40, and the oil level on the dipstick seems fine?
It does seem to be messing oil a bit, don't know if it could be losing pressure from a leak, or just be sweating oil?
Could it be faulty oil filter, damaged/loose sensor, faulty oil pump, too low viscosity oil for old motor?
Any way to maybe narrow it down?

Re: Polo playa low oil pressure light
Abest way is to use a mechanical gauge and see what the oil pressure physically is. Eliminates all that guesswork in one go.

Re: Polo playa low oil pressure light
Can get an oil pressure gauge from frontline midas tomorrow.
Will also get a new sender. Hopefully bad, oily or leaking sender.
Water also doesn't look too kosher. Maybe just old and bit of rust? Looks yellowy brown, also had a tad of bubbles when I checked.
Maybe get a compression gauge also?

Re: Polo playa low oil pressure light
How many kilos on the motor?
Is the motor still performing as it should power still there, any smoke?

Re: Polo playa low oil pressure light
260k km, no smoke. Power has been a tad random for a while, but nothing crazy. Could be crappy petrol at some places also think the car is running a bit rich. Got the oil pressure gauge and new sender will check this evening.

Oil pressure seems fine. Got wrong sensor so couldn't change it but it was very oily on plug.
