Metal and plastic pieces

Post by vwpro »

Found these metal and plastic pieces between the balancing weight in the golf5 oilpump and cannot make out where it comes from, one piece of plastic looks lik the friction slide plate of a tensioner, but all the plates are still in tacked,
this objects got the oilpump stuck and the one gear bolt snapped on the oilpump aswell as the chain of the oilpump snapped.
Metal pieces lookes like the thrust bearings on the crank but they all so still in place.

Anybody! any idea where this might come from?

Yup it's the thrust bearings. How sure a you they are still in place. It has only a half moon thrust in the top of the block, not in the cap. I have seen this before on a manual box A3 of a friend. Basically meant engine replacement
The plastic pieces are the chain tensioner on the pump.
