Varta Batteries - Durban

Post by P1LAYA-ZN »

Good Day gents,

So I'm in need of a battery and most advised getting a Varta for my car (Audi A3 8L). What I need to know is who in durban stocks it and what size would I need ? I had a 652 Energizer previously that lasted a good 4 years. Any ideas on prices also ?

Thanks

Thanks guys.
just bought a Varta 652 from there online for R1368.
What life do you get out of them ?
My Energizer lasted 4 years, which I though was good.
Previously I had an Exide on my Rxi that only lasted 2 years

So my Varta E11 680 battery seems it is dying a slow death after serving me a good 4yr 10months. I noticed that the voltage is reading is wayyy higher than 12.5 V (it reads 16.5V).

Yesterday morning car started with no issues drove 85km, parked and after 12 hours tried to start the car and battery was flat. Managed to start it, drive 85km, parked overnight and this morning as well battery was flat.

Have put it on charger now to see if the charger will revive it.

What bothers me is the voltage reading that reads over 12v on the battery.

Checker around prices on the Internet and it seems these batteries are now selling for R1.8 ouch.

When in pta or JHB can I check for prices.

Overcharging normally means the voltage regulator in the alternator is faulty.

So replaced the multimeter 9v battery and the battery now reads 12.6V after a good charge
