Bad fuel pump

I recently did i carb to fuel injection conversion, I had bought a brand new fuel pump(external fuel pump), but the person who wired my car put the pump in the bonnet, also he mixed up the fed and return, from the start the fuel was noisey,like a loud buzzing and the car didn't start, after a while I figured out that he mixed the pipes and switched it and put the pump in the back, nearer the tank, now when I start the car the pump is very buzzy and sounds like it's dying, any idea what caused the pump to die? Which one of the 2?

Injection pumps do not suck. They need to be gravity fed or sit in-tank.
So if you added an injection pump to a carb tank you are expecting it to overcome gravity and suck from the tank. They don't do this weel, will always be noisey and fail fairly soon.

I had the same issue with my old mans car.
Every single pump i tried was too noisey and or gave issues.

do the intank conversion with a bosch pump, they are completely quiet and work 100%

or

get a FI tank with the correct external fuel pump

By putting the pump in the front would of damaged it?

Most defnitely and it would barely work if at all.
