Audi A4 B7 Rear Bumpstops

Post by markfish888 »

Hello!

Replaced rear shocks before going on holliday, rear bupstops were totaly Knackered.
Goldwagen Didn't have, so put in shocks without to go on roadtrip.

Audi Part number 4F0512131 (FWD)

Was quoted R600 EACH! @ McCarthy Audi Menlyn  How can a small 10cm polyurethane foam piece cost more than a shock absorber!?
I simply refuse to pay dealer ridiculous Gouging Prices (also Quoted R500 for S-line side trim badge, WTF!)

Does anyone know of an aftermarket polyurethane/Rubber replacement bumstops? All shops I phoned in Pretoria can't help, refered to agents.

I load car quite heavy with stock sometimes, dont want to damage dampers if they bottom out , and I need to put cover sleave back on, to protect shaft and seal from getting dirty and damaging seal) ,and the sleaves can only attach to the bumpstops.
Rear shocks on IRS suspension is easy to remove. 3 bolts, 1 nylock nut.

Thanks!

PS:
USA site reference VW part 4B0512131B for Passat, but Parts Guy at McCarthy VW Menlyn says code not exist...
MK2's dont die, they just get faster!!
