So my front tow hook cover was stolen last night and i now have this huge hole in my bumper. Other than the Agents, where can i get a new one? The agents want to charge R260 and then i still need to take it to a panel beater to get it sprayed. What a rip off.

Hi All

So this is my first post on the forum. Currently have two issues on my car... Ooops no... Three issues.

1) Right Hand Xenon Headlight bulb is blown. VW dealers charges R2500 to replace.. Bit of a daylight robbery for me. Has any one on here done a DIY Xenon Headlight bulb replacement. I've figured out by now it is almost a full days work... What bulbs did you use? Or do you know someone else in Pretoria area who does it for a more affordable price?

2) I've noticed that my dynamic cornering lights is not working anymore. I've checked the bulbs and they seem fine. Also checked fuses and that also is fine. (Took me a while to get the bloody fuse box....). Could these not be working due to blown Xenon Headlight bulb or would it be a setting that's changed.

3) Need to replace front break pads... That seems less complicated than replacing the Xenon headlight bulb...

Would appreciate your feedback...

Am heading up to JHB tomorrow to pickup a used 2014 Golf 7 2.0 TDI Comfortline from the dealership.
Car has done around 91000kms and is out of warranty. Got it at a good price though. The car is out of warranty.

My 2006 Polo 1.9 TDI Highline was stolen in December and I've been without my own wheels ever since.

VW tried to sell me a Mastercars Extended Warranty for R11000. The warranty is provided by a third party company called Trafficc. Read through through the quote they sent me and found some pretty scary exclusions.

I am a bit concerned that should something major break, I will have to fork out huge cash to repair it.

Can anyone suggest a reputable aftermarket warranty provider? Have hear of Hollard Motor Extender and SA Warranties.
Is Trafficc any good? Perhaps its worthwhile taking this from VW?

Any suggestions?

What kind of oil consumption are the guys with the 1.4 engines getting? Mine is now using 1L every 2000km. VW are hiding behind their acceptable usage of 1L every 1000km which to me is completely unacceptable.

Can anyone tell the difference between the 1.0 tsi comfortline and 1.4 tsi comfortline suspension(facelifts)

Apparently the 1.0 setup in all trims is a torsion beam and the 1.4 is a multi link.

Is there a noticeable difference in drive comfort etc?

My golf has adaptive cruise control, and when I'm at robots if the car in front starts pulling away start/stop will deactivate and start the engine up in preparation.

All good except 50% of drivers love to slowly creep along even while robots are still red, constantly deactivating the start/stop, even though there's a good 5mins left of a red robot..

This happens even if ACC is disengaged or completely turned off.

Anyone else experience this, anything you can do to get around it?

Hi,

I own a 2014 Golf 7 1.4 DSG. This morning I had an issue starting the car. It says I must be in Park to start, even though it is in Park and my foot on the brake. Switched off a view times, and still the same. Then I just moved the gear lever to Drive and back to park and it started. I seems it only does this in the mornings.

There is also a noise in front when I start it, been for a while, but I read that it may be the wastegate actuator rod rattling.

:deadhorse: hi there
I wonder if you can help me. I'm unable to lock my car with the remote. If I lock it manually...each single door..it will lock and when I open with the remote, it opens 100% but It wont lock by using the remote. When I drive, the drivers side door shows that It is open. It will lock automatically as I drive and other times it locks while I'm driving but immediately unlocks and says the door is open. I bought a 2nd hand drivers side lock and replaced it but the same problem persists. What can be the problem? Anyway of resetting the door sensor(if there is one) or resetting the whole car. I think its an electronic problem...Please help?

Hi there
Drive a 1.4tsi, epc &, engine lights come on, car won't climb further than 2500rpms, smokes on acceleration and deceleration. I'm told the engine needs to be rebuild, not quite convinced... Has any one had a similar problem please help

Hi guys...

Been driving my golf 7 1.4 tsi for a while now, been trying to do some research on what the difference is between the Turbo’s on the 90kw and 103kw versions.

Does anyone know what the differences are? The turbos looks the same from what I see.

The reason I ask is I’d like to fit the 103kw turbo on my 90kw engine with a software remap.

Looking forward to your replies :hi:
