Power fig will not depend on the type of management system but rather on the knowladge / skill of the tuner and the capability of the motor. Also the type and Size of turbo wil have a hudge effect on the power the 1.6 wil make and also where it wil make it in the rev range.

How fast a car is over a 1/4 mile is also not and indication of the power it is making it's a combination of Power/Grip and gearing that gives you a decent 1/4 mile time.

I had a 1.8l 8V CTi, U-Flow that made 110wkw at Big Z on T28 Turbo @ 0.5 bars boost. On average you would be looking at around 145 whp on a 1.6l 8V turbo, pump fuel.

Yup.

You can actually tell more by knowing the exit speed. That's a much nicer indication of how much HP there is.

Take my car. With 300whp, I ran 11.9 @ 172km/h, and with 450whp, I ran 11.7, but at 201km/h.

Times nearly identical (cause traction/weight/etc stayed the same), but BIG difference in speeds.

Skimmed pistons is dangerous especially on a turbo motor, the deck is where the strngth should be, you want lots of meat above the ring lands and uptop. Also how does MP9 cater for boost, it only has a 1 bar map sensor no?

Bud why dont you check out the Precision bolt on kit they have for MK1s...I heard that they are reliable and can be used as an everyday drive, if I am not mistaken then make about 100kw on the wheels @ 0.5bar.

First off start a new thread and dont revive old ones.

Second use the search function and look up a thread by Viper. He built a meth fed N/A Citi that ran late 12's. He spent big bucks getting that car down the track, so be warned.

Add grip & Add lots of power - Loosing some weight will also help alot

Basic rule of thumb, about R1000 per 1kW you expect to gain.

You need about 220 - 250kW for 13s quarters, you are starting with 65kW. That leaves a difference of +/- 180kW, so following the rule you should spend around R180000 getting your car fast enough.

This may not include safety equipment and additional things like wheels and suspension etc.
Not to mention the car will no longer be capable of daily duties. Think along the lines of the silver Citi that was on the cover of SnS a few years ago.
