When i was back home in the Eastern Cape over the past holidays, i saw a brand new Polo 1.6 Comfortline with a sick ass panoramic roof like the one you find in an Audi, slide open on the outide !
Anyone know where i can have that fitted on mine and how much it would cost me. I have been saving up since march when i got my baby. Tried trying Webasto and their panoramic (H900) only slides inside and is not as attracrtive as the one i saw.
If you take the option from VW it costs R9000. Not sure where you'd be able to get it after market.

I saw two polo's with the panoramic roof today and they look very good!
My opinion though, i wouldnt even fit a normal sunroof aftermarket, never mind trying a panoramic one, where there will be A LOT more cutting involved!
If you really want a sunroof on your polo sell your current one and order one with panoramic roof from factory.
Fitting an aftermarket sunroof will also devalue your car significantly.
IMHO this is the stupidest thing any designer could have come up with
Yes, The roof looks fantastic when its closed and tilted, but when its open, all the inner workings of the sunroof is visible. you see all the inner structure of the roof and the mechanism that operates the sunroof. it really looks cluttered and unfinished.
The worst thing about it was that the opening in the roof, into the cabin, is exactly the same size as any other sunroof.
They spent millions on developing a sunroof that's no better for the person in the car than any other sunroof...
and there is nothing panoramic about it, seeing as the actual sunroof from in the car is exactly the same as the old ones...
The sunroof is a lot bigger than a normal sunroof, its huge. The sunroof is also for the front and back passengers.

Don't really like the sunroof, i agree with G-Spot, it looks really disgusting when it's opened!

i have seen about 3 new polo's with them, all were the comfortline 1.6's though. havent seena GTi with it yet on the road tho, only the one in a photo of the dealership when Rascal got his G6 GTi

The inalfa panoramic is the same as what is used by merc..
a friend of mine just bout a CW 6RPolo and fitted the normal Sunroof that slides into the roof. He said the sunroof was fitted by a VW approved Dealer but it is an afterMarket. My Question is, is there a difference in roof configurations meaning are there any extra panels or roof linning fitted to the factory fitted sunroof than a car that is not factory fitted which is going to be cut and fitted with an after market one?

when i was finding out just for the sake of it about VW approved after market sunroof from VW this is what the guy told me:

in short he meant that factory fitted is best
