As the topic reads, 2007 Jetta 5 TFSI wont start, engine cranks but doesnt fire.
Thought it was the coil packs so i bought a new set this morning but no change.
Any good mech's in the West rand JHB?

Re: Jetta TFSI Not starting
Without some diagnostic you will guess at a lot of stuff before getting to the correct item.
It is EXTREMELY unlikely that all 4 coils will fail at the same time.
But a bigger likelyhood are the following
1) fuel pump or relay
2) engine speed pickup also called crank angle sensor depending on who you talk to
3) cam position sensor
4) main ecu relay
5) ecu itself. Not uncommon on those. Had it with my own a4 DTM. Put it in the garage - next day no start. It simply would not open the injectors. Replaced ecu and there you go.
But you basically have to start by plugging in a diagnostic tool, see if there is rpm, crank and cam. Is there fuel presure, low side and high side. And is the power to the unit. Ie can you even see the ecu.
Apparently vagcspeccentre is highly recommended that side hey dazza

Re: Jetta TFSI Not starting
So the car was towed to VAG Motorsport. So far we can see the fueling is an issue. Holding thumbs for something not costly...
