Post by Blaiden101@ »

Hi all

We need help our Golf 5 Gti 06' is misfiring when the Airflow meter is plugged in and when plugged out it doesn't Misfire. We have also Changed the PCV Valve and the High Pressure Pump, also we have tried another Airflow meter and same problem. This problem has occurred since we put the Induction Pipe on it. :bang:

Thought of taking said induction pipe off and putting the original air box back. What induction did you install, the maf location is an important thing on these cars.

In that case I can only suggest getting it looked over by VW or a good VW indie

We have also had the car by a VW Specialist. He also has no clue why the car is doing this. I posted here mayby someone has had a similar problem or had the same problem.

If you unplug MAF and car runs fine, could be a boost leak or maf damaged

So did you try the other airflow meter in the stock intake or in the induction kit pipe?

The stock shape is an angular oval, unless the flow profile is very close to stock or the voltage-airflow tables have been adjusted for the new intake there will always be an inaccuracy going from oval to circular. Even if the cross sectional area is the same, the air to wall interactions and velocity profile across the pipe will differ. If it differs to much you will see either positive or negative lambda corrections over the 25% or so limit. You can also get boost leak (DV-TB pressure drop code) which is a limp mode causing code, as modelled boost from airflow differs too much from actual.

no at this point I am fresh out of ideas. When you look at the single reading blocks does it show a reasonable IE inside the range of expected airflow numbers ?
