Golf 6 gti manual gearbox issue

Hi guys

I have a 2011 manual g6 gti and i am trying to determine whats wrong with my gearbox. The car drives perfectly fine in all gears except 4th and 6th. When in either 4 or 6 there is a loud clattering/clicking noise that gets louder as you accelerate, it still drives normal in these gears but make the sound. Any idea as to what this could be ? And why does it only happen for those 2 gears? I will be removing the box later this week but any help/advice would be great
