polo 9n3 gti MAF

hi guys i just needed some advice wen i disconnect my maf sensor while the car is running there isnt a idle drop neither does the car switch of.....i have no warning lights on the dash and iv also scanned the car....nothing points out to MAF the car is also abit heavy on fuel....any ideas wat this could be??? thanks guys

Unplugging the MAF should light up the ESP light on the dash, which on the polos is same as the traction control light. It may have been disabled if it isn't showing up.

Try lambda sensor , a few cars have increased fuel when these are not functioning.

Changed both MAF and Lambda in a OPC recently and customer got a good decrease in consumption.

Only thing that showed the problem was logs as the ecu did not flag an error.
