1993 Golf CITI in New Zealand

Hi, purchased a 1.4 CITI from the original owner who emigrated to NZ from South Africa. Love the car, but can find no information about relevant wiring diagrams. Has recently developed an issue with the temp light flashing... would appreciate any fix ideas. The car has done only 83k since new. any ideas appreciated.

Temp light flashing is usually the sensor on top of the water bottle if the gauge is not in the red/high range
