Port and flow won't affect compression, it will up the cylinder filling though. The head must have been skimmed further.

This sounds like a very expensive proposition. Good luck

could you answer this then.panic-mechanic wrote:Stopped why and in what quantities was it mixed at that stage.
Honestly I think your tuner is just blowing you off. Or it comes down to what i told you. You added ethanol and even with advancing the timing it made less power making him decide the fuel mixed with the ethanol is the issue or 'bad'.
ethanol has less inherent power so the more you add the less hp you will make once you reach the point where it's knock suppression effect offsets it's actual ability to provide power.
It is different on boosted cars. You can add a lot of boost to offset that.
Have you considered Xylene/toulene?

Re: Supporting mods to run E95 Ethanol
Sorry Panic I missed that completely....since posting this the has not seen a dyno, my dilemma is really the grade of Ethanol to use...the Ethanol market is growing in terms of blending methods and stuff, I will post something up soon regarding that...myself and a friend have been invited to a factory tour at 24/7 race fuels, should be interesting! The E100 is an extensively blended grade with proper additives and even a Ron booster which will mitigate the grade of pump filled even tho it will always be 95 BP...so using this grade will allow me to pull back the dosage of Eth to pump, to that point you explained about using just enough....apologies for the confusion, however I'm sure there will be someone out there that could benefit from this..

Re: Supporting mods to run E95 Ethanol
Performance wise yes I'm sure, but that cost is not justified.
I should have just stuck my NOS Kit in and ran the car on 50% Eth & 50% Pump Fuel. I just thought at the time filling a bottle @ R1000 was a bit much.

Re: Supporting mods to run E95 Ethanol
Howsit guys, so finally the car has been tuned...I started of with a 15% Ethanol and pump fuel mix, tuning began and straight away the car pinged...anyway long story short, I ended up at a 40% Ethanol and 60% pump fuel...everything went really well, final numbers were 111wkw and 210nm @ Autotrix...super excited about that, I've never felt the car to be this quick ever! And very proud to say that this was achieved on a single throttle setup on 288 cam...
