NITROS ON 2L 8V VELOCITI

Post by nikesh »

Howsit guys..

got a 2L 8v, 276 cam, head work with a short intake running 57 into 63mm exhaust and management.

What are your views on how this motor will handle Nitrous with Stock internals and how many shots of Nitrous?

Do I need to add on anything else to support this Mod?

This is a tricky one, it depends on the skill of your tuner and how well setup both the motor and the nitrous kit is. You need to have your failsafes in place for nitrous shutoff.

What's most important is that the welds on the manifold are in good condition, between 75 and 100 shots of nitrous can pose a danger to manifold.

Start with your tuner, find one you like and trust and ask him about gassing the car.

Read up on all the safeguards. Make sure they are in place and that you understand why they are there.

Back Nitrous Solenoid is must, generally speaking its connected just after the bottle....I'd say the most important is blanket, filter & a management system that allows you to pull back the timing (timing pot)

Having gone this route my view is that its way to expensive over a period of time....I'd much rather boost it, boosting of cars have come a long way in terms of reliability.

My kit was purchased as a complete kit brand new, after finding out that I needed to spend another 10K+ I scrapped the whole idea!!!!!!!

Most importantly be sure of the grade of Nitrous that gets filled into your bottle, there is some pretty nasty stuff been sold out there.
