Most prefered Ecu

Post by corney »

Hi guys. Been reading your posts for a while and recently bought myself a well looked after caddy. Want to go the efi route and need some suggestions from the more experienced guys. Which ecu would be the better option an what do you think about the gotech pro x? Going to run agg with 282 estas cam. Standard head so far and what do you sugest with th exhaust? Exhaust is still standard and its got a carb on the 2l now and its terrible. Please help!
Thanks in advance.

go ask the guy that you want to tune your car what he prefers.
Gotech is not that much loved by actual tuners. Probably the most used and most places that will tune it is currently dictator.
no use you pick a management system that your tuner dislikes as that will not give you a fantastic result.
Trust me - the system is only as good as the tuner likes it.

Yes change it. Honestly most exhaust shops can help you with sizing etc if you tell them how much noise you want and or what you are after.
As it is now 50 or 57 will be fine.

As Panic said, depends on your tuner.

I have Dicktator on my golf, but I only hear good things of Spitstronics.

57mm works nicely with the 2.0lt 8v's. What area do you stay?

Viper is great in JHB.

8v Performance in Benoni sells these awesome branches if you are maybe interested.

Eish, dit is bietjie ver!lol

Firstly see if there even is a tuner in your area. Otherwise, give THANAS a shout, he is in Cape Town and a very clever dude. I know he likes Spitstronics a lot.

I can get a diktator installed and dyno tuned for 5 and a half grand in Kimberly, branches for 3800 and exhaust for 1800and bmw inline pump for 750. So looking at about 12000. Looks very painfull from this angle, maybe thats some of the injuries of this type of sport. How ever I need to get this caddy to a state where it gives me goosebumps.

Send Sarel an email regarding the branch, I paid R2500 for a vw motorsport branch, he has the jig to build these branches.

If you can give me contact details of some reliable connections I can maybe arrange for it to be delivered by courier and install it myself. I will take it for a dyno after Im done. Foes the branches realy make such a big differance?
