MP9 with UniChip Timing

Morning guys,

Quick question, I have a velociti 1.4i mp9 with a dastek uniQ chip, other than the chip the cars standard. Must the timing still be set with VAG to stabilize the idle at 1500rpm or is this not needed anymore due to the UniQ?

It still applies. But not knowing at what base timing the Uniq was set you are kinda possibly going to screw with whatever was tuned.

Thanks Panic, fuel economy rapidly dropped after the timing was set on VAG. Getting the Uniq's timing "synced" back up with the MP9 will be the first place to start if I'm correct?

While on the topic of the UniQ.I removed all the mods previously done to the car so its standard again. Is there really any advantage to still use the Uniq, or should I just remove it completely?

virtually none and it might do better without it.
