VW Touran 1.9tdi 2004

Post by Magito »

hi, I recently replace my Turbo on my 1.9tdi touran 2004 when this was done I picked up errors on the diagnostic machine that the Boost Sensor has fault, so I replaced it with a new Bosch sensor, but still the same errors and the engine still does not boost.
I unplugged the sensor and there is boost, but without the sensor plugged in the car is drivable, how is this working?

Can you place the scan results here so we can see. This way you might get some good advice.

Rather buy a good quality part that will last then buying a cheap part that won't last.

If by boost sensor you mean the n75 it has 3 connections, and if it works with it disconnected. Then you have connected it wrong, check online for diagram, it could be faulty or you could have a blown n75 fuse, check driver side ok side of dash

Alarm horn - If you are close to a dealer, take the VIN number to them and ask that they have a look on their PC. The schematics will give you an indication where to look.
Power steering bottle - Look for a small black reservoir with a green lid with a cut out on top, for the Jetta 4 TDi it was next to the water bottle and suspension turret. Otherwise, follow same steps as for alarm horn.

I might be very wrong but I don't think you will find a power steering bottle in a Touran, it uses the same chassis as the golf V which means electric power steering... there should be a servo or electric motor on the rack

I think you are correct.

It's the same engine used in our 2007 Caddy and it's electrical. I think the 2004 portion threw me and I looked at the wrong engine on Google... :hi:

No problem, lots of knowledge here... :hi:

What you can also do, is to take the engine series number as shown on your license disc, usually starts with 3 letters, and copy that to Google, i.e. AHF or BKB, etc. which should give you engine info and if you click on images, you can compare visually to what you have.
