2006 1.9TDI FUEL GAUGE

Hi guys,

First post.

I bought a 1.9 tdi about a week back. it has 140 000km so far. The car runs well. I brimmed the tank on purchase and did about 550km since, yet the fuel gauge shows ive used about just less of quarter tank(3/4 still full). I know the sensor is faulty since it jumps from full to 3/4 and vice versa. Is there any way to have it checked or repaired without replacing the diesel pump? Gold wagon quoted me R2 200.00 for a new pump.

Any ideas?

if its the same as the 1.8T they do get jumpy and it can be fixed
could be fuel level sender, could be loose wire, faulty gauge lots of things
dont just go buying , rather get it check by a professional
