Dear Committee members.

Had to start off formal. Anyway. I am being serious about running the twitter account and I think it would be a good idea to have a facebook page as well. It could be good publicity for the group.
Have highlights of events and what's going on in the forum without flooding FB/twitter pages.

Well thats my thinking and want to help out with this. Use it, don't use it. hahaha

Lol the twitter account (24/7 job) is dead because its not really the means of advertising audience we want to focus on but will probably be used for DubRun.

twiiter is a great way to get a new audience with those in the age ranges of 16-27 esp in SA.... twitter comes 2nd in "social" media and is a great tool for directing traffic to your website.

Hahaha. Just block Nic on twitter...

I don't think twitter is meant for discussions, that's what the forum is for. But posting event details with links to the forum. Posting the odd pic or two at events, Dubrun as you said. Links to hot topics on the forum. A quick way to see what's happening without being on the forum. Same as facebook but yes there are people that prefer twitter over facebook.
The way I see it anyway.

oh and making the guy/girl that's not on this forum inquisitive to see what's going on here. Coz we all know when you first in here you hardly leave.

Exactly what you post on FB.

Dubrun countdown is less then 140 characters and you can have people retweeting it for more exposure etc

Just saying events etc can be tweeted

imho i dont give a ****... but for every business social media is important as it warrants social signals which adds to the overall value of the website increasing traffic and rankings resulting in more signups and possible club memberships.

you need to run the club as a business and a passion...

no its not just me talking out my anus, i started a club already and its going strong still

Sign up for Comm next year and we will gladly consider a Social Media position.

What you guys don't understand this is not our full time jobs, We have demanding jobs and right now I am eating into that time.
All of our free time goes into the important things like events, membership, raising funds etc. and that's what we signed up for as Comm members, Getting onto Twitter is a "luxury" at this point.

We'll take any suggestions with open arms but come the AGM and elections step up to the plate and become a Comm member, Make the difference you want to see.

I shall do that then. But why wait till next year? Just asking :hi:
Grems mentioned to me a while back that the club really wants to make an effort this year. and I believe it has worked VERY well. Now is the time to let the world know how awesome this club is.
I totally understand the job thing. I will also have to make time for things like these but want to do it, for the love of the club (yes I might be a new guy but already feel at home). Damn I wish I knew this club existed when I had my mk4 GTI.

Dont stress bud. I will request to become part of the comm at the AGM to be able to run twitter. I hoped it could have been sooner as i would really enjoy beeing a part of this but I respect the decisions of the comm (old ballies)
