Great work guys

How did you manage to make all the links still work?

The board is configured to build links on a relative path from it's root. As easy as creating a forum folder, and move the forum's physical files over and add a redirect from phpbb3 to forum. Will be making the redirect permanent soon.

Tapatalk was a little exception until the config took affect on their side to the new folder structure.

I thought the had to run a REPLACE(@@field,'http://www.vwclub.co.za/phpbb3','http:/ ... o.za/forum') over the entire MySQL db

Thats the great things about relative links... you can change your subfolder easily...

What was the reason for change? Just asking...

This change didn't affect us at all, great job and well done!

Not necessary, phpBB does not save absolute paths in the DB. Like Sparkz0629 said, that is the great thing using relative paths.

This change didn't affect us at all, great job and well done!

Its more descriptive and Google can do proper indexing.

The only con was to do the transition fluently for browsers and Tapatalk.
