Polo gti 1.4 esc error

Good day,new here,please help,been having an esc error on my polo gti 1.4,steering gets stiff,all warning light come on,temp goes to zero,ref counter goes up and down,then mfd says brakes workshop!takes about 5 min to reset....vag machine indicates communication error,mechanics checked all earth connection but cant find the problem....anyone please have spent a fortune thus far
