I don't think the Megs pads are available locally anymore, the CarPro MF is the other best alternative at a much better price.

I checked, they have shine mate ones, they do the job but the fibres need some awakening every 3 min, or maybe im using too much compound

After 3 minutes my guess is you would have probably polished a 'section', at which point you should be stopping to clean the pad and fluff the fibers back up. This is why compressed air is favored for cleaning MF pads.

As to too much product or not, its a tricky one - one the one hand you have to make sure every fibre is sufficiently coated with product to maximize cut, but any excess will lead to clumping around the fibres which will re-scour the surface. Finding that balance will come with some experience and a good understanding of the product you are using.

Some don't mind being used a little heavy and some must be used sparingly.

Lawrence its the pad, none of my other MF pads do this, the closest option to the Megs DMC's are CarPro MF.

In my experience, as well as watching vids of guys using MF, they should ideally be blown out with compressed air after every pass as Lawrence stated.

Zubair - you may not be experiencing this issue because you would have lots of experience by now, it's tough to get used to MF in the beginning.

Also, Megs have discontinued their MF pads, but Rupes are introducing a new range so that should be interesting

No Kyle, I have the same MF and it matts down a single pass on both liquid type Megs SMAT and Gel/Cream type Menz DAT products. Rupes,Griots Boss,Carpro,Megs,Optimum, Buff and Shine, Chemical Guys and a whole other list of MF's I use on 8/12/15/21 mm DA's don't do this so easily. The problem lies with the actual fibre nap and/or foam interface.

Interesting, not a fan MF myself...

Saw some pics from Zubair on whatsapp last night of the Shinemate MF pads and he's 100% correct - they matt down like nobody's business and don't seem to be a 'good buy'.

Can't understand how products like that actually get released.

Would be interesting to see what the manufacturer says.

To be honest, I really enjoy the rupes foam pads, cheap as chips and perform well.

ill just keep practicing with the mf pads i have, cause they cut really well and quick, but the foam pads are a breeze to work with
