Drying Towel - Verimark Carwiz?

Post by Life160 »

I was at Builders earlier this afternoon and came across a Verimark "Carwiz" drying towel. For the price - it looks and feels pretty good.
Anyone ever try one of these?

https://www.verimark.co.za/products/carwiz

I usually use my Crazydetailer drying cloth which is fantastic however, I wouldn't mind having a second drying cloth - for when I wash both car's consecutively.

It looks like it might be ok for wheels. Why not just buy another cd towel?

I probably will, but just came across that one and thought I'd ask. I'm not big on Verimark products and all their strange claims.
But for R70 - I'll get one anyways.

Goedkoop is duurkoop.

But

I have come across many a cheap product that has worked better than expected, and many an expensive product that worked like utter crap - such is the nature of the beast.

Often it is all about marketing.

The reality though is you won't know until you try it.

Perhaps just test it out on a small section only so that if it is crap, it doesn't mess up the whole car.

The best drying towel I've come across is the grey and blue one from Makro for 80 bucks. I forget the brand.

I use this Verimark drying towel, Now I'm no detailer are wash Guru but it gets the job done very well. It's microfiber and tends to hold a good sum of water before it needs to be wringed out
Yip I still got my 1.4 Citi

FWIW it is not only about how much water it can hold, but how the fibres interact with the paint to prevent swirls.

There are a multitude of options out there and it all depends on how anal you want to get about it, and how much money you want to throw at it.

The best drying towel is no drying towel.... rather use an electric leaf blower - no contact = no chance for swirls.... but it will be contingent upon your paint being prepped properly or the water will 'stick' to the paint, negating the blowers effectiveness.

I would also like a budget list. 90% of the good detailing stuff is just too expensive. I want to know if walk into a local builder/makro or WHY,what should i look out for. What is good enough for the man on the street to use

Shampoo - Auto finesse lather

3-5 cap fulls is enough for a normal sized bucket, so you can imagine how much 1lt would last. It provides awesome lubrication and cleaning ability.

Drying towel - Microfiber madness waffle weave

I have tested all the drying cloths out there, being used in a detailing business means they are tested under extreme circumstances. The CD towel is acceptable for home use and it would last a while. But I find the material used in the MF madness WW towel to be much softer, and it absord much more water, whereas my CD towel is pretty much done after one wipe down and needs to be dried.

Wash Mitt - Scholl concepts

Lasts ages, still as soft and healthy as when I bought it. The CD wash mitt is also good, but our one didn't last that long.

Sorry bud,

WW - Waffle weave, its the pattern of the cloth, basically acts as water pockets.

The Meguires stuff is good. Way better than the cheap super budget stuff and is readily available. It also works out cheaper than the AF / CD products...
