hi does any body know about some of the features of the dastek unichip? i would like to install 1 in my 2007 polo 1,4i after i do my cam and branch...i hear i need a Type A unichip...does anyone know how i can tell if the chip is type A or B?

I read through the thread and still don;t really know the differences between the systems. In my signiture you will see what my mods are. What would you guys suggest? After some testing we found that my MAF has had it days, so it's either replace MAF and sit with digi still, or replace management and be sorted. Dicktator or Gotech? and if Gotech, which one?
I'm not really going to do much dragging, would just like desent setup and get the max power out the engine as well as have the ability to have desent fuel consumpion when dring in town.

I've been in contact with 3 tuners in the last week, and all 3 tell me a different story as to which one is the best, of course they each sell different ones too and the last advice you ever take is from a salesmen, I know, I use to be one too so I know the tricks. Isn;t there anyone out there that deals with all the brands and can tell me what I need to know about each system?

But there's not really such a thing as "the best management" anymore. They're all pretty much the same, give or take a feature either side.
Decide who's going to be tuning your car, and install what he prefers. Unless he says "Gotech", in which case you find someone else. *ducks and runs*

As I've come across at many places, everybody says that the entry level systems are a bit idle fussy, well they told me that Perfect Power is the better concerning that and then Dicktator, apparently they don;t have just a on/off setting for the ICV, don;t really know what they emant by that but oh well. And wherever I go I hear Perfect Power, but here in PE we only have GMP Motorsport (VW Motorsport) and they are agents for them, but R6000 it costs. "gulp"

Hi Octal. Just spoke with someone in PE today who seems to know the local scene. He said 'Autograph' is the place to go, and that they're not too expensive. I, however, cannot vouch for them myself.

R6000 is a total ripoff. Which unit are you looking for? I am a PP dealer mostly for the Locost/Lotus 7 guys, but I can get you a system and courier it too you. As an example, the entry level XMS4A now goes for R2110 and the most expensive XMS4C8(which is totally overkill for a 4cylinder) goes for R3880, that is with 8 injector outputs, 8 ignition outputs, 8 aux outputs, WBC, electronic throttle control etc, so R6K is way too much, except of course if it includes installation, dyno etc.

Yes it does include installation and dyno. I really don;t know what management to go for, people tell me that PP is very good, but in comparison to Dicktator(don;t know what the differences are in the different models from them either) which 1 would suite me? As in my signiture, that is what the car is at the moment, but planning to go 16V turbo later or fitting Audi 2L turbo at a later stage. Still undecided, but this is plans for next 5 or so years. I have contacted a few tuners that do all the brands and all of them favours the Perfect Power units, they all told me it is more refined than other systems and you get better options for tuneability on it.
My question is my car hasn;t got a crank sensor, how dufficult is it to install 1. The reason I ask this is because the digi fuel injection as I understand just injects all at once and virtually the whole time(Batch). If I want to make it sequential I would need a crank sensor right? Maybe something else as well? Then with the new management I could run the injection sequential? Better fuel consumption and accuracy?

What about the good old Domingos system?
A friend gave me the system to use on my 16v itb setup. We are busy swoping the engine out this week so i would just like to know if this system will work ass i got it for free and if anyone knows who will tune it in Cape Town.
Domingos might be old but it worked well back in the day even though it stil looks like a amp lol.
Please any advise will be much appreciated thanks.

It was basically a Gotech, if memory serves. (Or Gotech was initially a Domingos, or something.) Personally, I wouldn't use it. Technology has moved on quite a bit.GTP-CADDYclub wrote:What about the good old Domingos system?

That is true, Domingos is a oupa system. Guess i'll need to wait another month or 2 till i have the money to buy a proper system. Since you need Dos to tune the system not sure if any tuner still runs a PC using Dos. What is a reasonable price to pay for someone to INSTALL a management system on a Golf 1 16v with ITB's ?

I had a Domingos on my turbo car - it's for all intents an older Gotech MFI.
Still got all the software etc - I used to tune mine myself to a large degree. Easy as pie, once you get used to the interface. Ran the software off an old laptop on Win98.
The only problems I never were able to sort out is that the cold-start enrichment did nothing, no matter how you set it, and the rev-limiter didn't work, no matter how you set it. Which was a bit of a problem on a turbo car, as it would rev the living **** out of itself once boost hit...
Never revved itself to bits though - 2E's are tough!
Still got all the software etc - I used to tune mine myself to a large degree. Easy as pie, once you get used to the interface. Ran the software off an old laptop on Win98.

Nope, XMS4B has got all the functionality of the "A" version, plus built-in support for a wideband lambda probe. the number of drivers is the -2 for 2 ign & 2inj & 2 optional outputs, -4 is 4 of all and -8 is 8 of all.
the "A" at the end on some of them, is the units with built in AMP sensors.
