Crazydetailer is proud to bring you Soft99 !
In keeping with our commitment to the SA detailing community of researching and sourcing the very latest and greatest detailing trends, I would like to introduce a new line-up to Crazydetailer – Soft99. Your first reaction might be who the, or what the heck is Soft99! Soft99 until just recently was not a very well known or popular brand. While they originate and are “Big in Japan”, not many people even knew they existed though they have been around since the 60’s. A respected detailer from DetailingWorld UK tried out one of their products and was completely blown away, so much so he decided to do a detailed thread about Fusso (the wax he purchased at the time). From there on people tried the waxes and are still being blown away.
Nobody has seen this sort of technology being put into a wax. We have all used waxes, some of us have spent thousands of Rands on different waxes and sealants, but I can assure you, these products are unlike anything else you have seen before. Personally I have used allot of waxes and sealants, but doing just a fender of my car with the Fusso wax was a jaw dropping moment, even for me.
The products are based on their nano glass coating technology, and as most will agree the Japanese are masters of the glass coatings. Using similar technology, they have fused Hi-Tech resins with PTFE polymers to leave paintwork super smooth with a deep shine. Their formulas are based on specific colours to ensure the wax that you use, on a dark or light coloured vehicle is optimised for shine.
These formulations are also built to last, with Fusso claiming up to 12 months, and the other waxes around 3 months endurance. The real party trick however is the way the coating repels water. I’ve never seen a wax repel water like this. Super Hydrophobic is a term I would use. Take a look at the videos we’ve uploaded to our website.
The packaging of the waxes is loud, very different to the usual line up that we have in our store. They are different and demand attention. Might not be everyone's cup of tea I admit, but use the products and you will realise these products have been engineered to stand out from the crowd; these are not your generic off the shelf products.
First up Fusso!
This is the wax has shocked the international detailing community.
The initial testing by respected detailers proved that Fusso punches way above its weight. Formulated using the latest Fluorine polymer technology, combined with PTFE and acrylic resins, you are guaranteed to get the best possible shine that will outlast anything else on the market. Fusso bonds to the paint leaving a super slick, thick coating that is hyper hydrophobic and repels water like nothing we have seen. This keeps the surface looking better for longer as dirt and contaminates do not bond as easily. Added to that, washing becomes even easier.
While you may have used decent sealants before, fusso has another ace up its sleeve. The hi-tech resin formula also fills minor surface imperfection like no other wax can. If you suffer from paint marring due to extremely soft paint, or if you can not afford to keep polishing your paintwork due to minor swirls from weekly washing, Fusso is the answer. This filling ability together with the extremely high gloss super coating created, leaves your paintwork in showroom condition with minimal effort.
^ This is just from the wax

Okay So Neil decided to give Fusso a go on his car this weekend:
Application was straight forward, easy on, spread evenly and thinly, and easy off. No streaking, or hard buffing etc.
It left an amazing finish ...
I think this pic shows the filling capabilities of this coating ...
Awesome results from just a wax.

Agreed. I'm not a fan of the applicator myself. Its functional, but I prefer our euro foam applicators. I prefer to "feel" the paint.Kyle wrote:That applicator though

Re: Crazydetailer is proud to bring you Soft99 !
More info on the different soft99 waxes.
There are four main waxes that we brought in. All of them have 2 formulations. One for dark and another for light colours. So in total there are 8 waxes.
First up is Fusso!
This is the wax in my original post, and is the benchmark product from Soft99. It kinda covers all basis. Good shine, extremely durable coating and easy to use.
Then we have the King of Gloss, lovingly refered to KoG!
This is the product for all out shine. Not as high endurance as Fusso, for obvious reasons. Easy to apply and remove. Endurance is rated around 3 months.
Then there's MirrorShine
This is very similar to Optimum's OptiSeal. This is the easiest wax you will ever use. All you do is wipe it on. There's no curing time, just work it in until it leaves a wet look gloss. Move on to the next panel. This easy to use product will still outlast any regular wax that you have used before. The endurance is about 3 months as well. This product will require a paradigm shift as we are all more used to the regular waxes. One thing you will notice with the other Soft99 waxes is the curing time is almost immediate. Which is why, this 0 curing product is the next step they've taken.
Lastly, we have the coating and cleaner wax.
This will compare to your regular AIO product. Cleans the paint and applies a coating in one step. Medium endurance at 3 months as well, and decent shine as well. This will benefit weathered paintwork that requires a quick one step.
All the Soft99 waxes contain PTFE and resin polymers. So they will all fill light marring and swirls to some degree. The biggest issue is finding enough reading material on these products, and the Japanese vids are a laff. But there is no doubt that this is something that the west has just got a taste of. If you trawl DetailingWorld (the biggest detailing dedicated forum on the web) you will quickly see how Soft99 has won the hearts of even the biggest sceptics.

Pimped from the Fusso thread:
I think the last sentence is important. While this shows off the extremes the wax can fill. Nothing replaces proper prep stage like clay and polish first. This will just enhance the finish and take things to the next level.Reflectology wrote:here are the pictures of the test I did, unfortunately i said they were wet sanded to 3000, its 2000 in my notes but it did also have a coat of ez creme. Never the less still impressive filling capabilities if you like that sort of thing.
As i say well known brand of wax, entry level.
Sanded to 2000
Wax applied.
Hope this clears up that when offered the opportunity wax WILL fill.
As you can see this a way more extreme than a quick flash over with a light polish and slap a massive filler on top, imagine the results after a light enhancement, could look the dogs danglies.
