Contact Tuffy. Got mine from him for R8k.

Stealers quoted me R36 000. You probably got a quote for only the power button.

Sorry if this has been asked before - Is there any one using the RNS510 replica unit from Jabsport? How does it perform? Good value for money?

Price not bad at all though - OEM unit is too much moola for me :(

Got the 5238 firmware here. Still not determined whether the the satnav says less "damma"s with this new firmware (take the offramp toward DAMMA is particularly irritating).
Otherwise, there is now an option for radio text, but it's implementation is pretty rubbish - replaces the favorites radio buttons, so I turned it off again.
Lost the maps, but music was not deleted.
Updated on a "C" unit without issue, but I had to use a blank CD while everyone else says their units only took a DVD, trial and error I guess. As always, you risk turning your unit into a paperweight, so proceed at your own risk, ESPECIALLY if you have an A or B unit.

Anyone know what the version and number of the latest maps are?

quick question bud
If I install a Bluetooth module with a rcd 310, will any coding be needed? I connected everything yesterday but couldn't pick up anything in the MFD or scanning for devices from my phone....

Coding is required for the MFD display.

It is the CAN GATEWAY - Controller 19 - Install List - Tick 77 - Telephone.

This will sort the problem out.

MFD type is important as well.
Black and White MFD - OK
RED (Check version)

Thanks

I have the white one, will check it out.

Is coding required for the unit to function as well? Without the MFD? Is that even possible?

Re: Unit RNS510

There is no coding required other than the CAN setting.

It should work as is.

Depending on what Bluetooth unit you have installed it should stream music and switch to 'PHONE' when the a call comes in or you making a call.

You can link to it via the phone BT and should show up as "VW phone" within the settings.

If you have the 'PREMIUM' version Part Number 3C 035 730 x. You will require the MFD to connect. The password is generated and is viewed in the MFD.

Thanks

5N0 035 730 D is the part number I have. 2010 Mk6 Gti.

I connected everything yesterday but I couldn't get it to work. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong as there is only one way to connect it all.

Not sure if this is maybe the problem? The one on the right is the oem connector. The one on the left is the harness supplied with the bt module. The small connector block are on different sides. Is that what's maybe causing the problem?

Is that a T Harness?

The picture seems to be fine. Just make sure that the Blue Block shown in Picture is extended to the other side of that harness. This is for MDI/CD (6 disk shuttle) or AUX.

The black connector on the left harness is for the telephone. The PIN's on the block 5,6,10,11,12 should be used. 5 and 10 may be left out.

Check this and let me know.

Send me a PICTURE of the entire harness.

Ok looks like you have the Premium kit. This requires MFD for setup.

What exactly is happening?
When you try 'pair' the phone what happen?
Can you see the Bluetooth system in your phone settings?

Also post pic of the T harness male connector side.

Nope doesn't find anything when I search on my phone. I thought maybe I didn't plug it in properly to the unit, but I just checked now again and it's all plugged in fine.

It's the standard connector but without the 2 small connector blocks. Will get a pic now...
