Waze on Android Auto

Looks like it is finally going to happen.

Just been notified that beta testers are being asked to start testing Waze on Android Auto.

Was waiting for this, but now got to find 4k from somewhere to get App Connect enabled.

Been struggling with app connect, hope I can get some assistance here. I am using a samsung s6 (android 6).

When connecting, the radio prompted me to download the car mode app, did so and was able to connect via Mirrorlink only. On my phone screen, the google maps app appears, however on the radio screen the google maps app is not visible. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

I am not able to connect through android auto, its seems like this is not available in SA yet, or am I mistaken?

I wish they would make Waze available on Apple CarPlay, I might actually use it in my car via my touch screen instead of simply on my phone.
