Looking for a tyre with low road noise
I currently drive a VW Golf 5, 2.0l non FSI version. Version 5 is not the most quiet car in terms of road noise. Currently the tyres fitted is Dunlop SP Sport 6060 in size 205/55/16 which were fitted by the dealer when I bought the car. According to my humble opinion roadnoise is quite pronounced with these tyres. Its time for replacements. I haven't driven a Golf with a different brand of tyre so my opinion might be a subjective one. Can anyone advise please because low roadnoise is one of my key requirements.

Stay away from any v-pattern tyres.

Re: Looking for a tyre with low road noise
As Kyle said, if price is not an issue, go for Michelin. I was also pleasantly surprised by the Barum Bravuris2 tires. It's a nice soft compound and VERY quite for its price. It's worth looking into.
I would stay away from Dunlop. I had them on my 8P S3 and had serious sidewall issues with them.
