2016 polo 1.5 TDI questions
Im brand new to VW and this is my first VW. I did search a bit on the forums for this answer but couldn't find it, if there is an answer please link me to it.
Ok simply im getting the 2016 polo 1.5 TDI next week for work. A couple things being done and need help on some of them
1. Emergency strobes/lights being fitted with their own control box and switch (being done with inline fuses etc by a pro)
2. Button to turn on and off (dont want it on my brights) LED Bar with magnets being connected and will be mounted to the roof at night and stored in the boot at day/when not needed (will be connected to the car permanently or might put it on a "plug")
3. Button to switch something on for work.
so my main question is? Where can i get factory switches in SA? I need 2-3 blank switches, LED would be cool but blank is fine.
What i mean?
The ones on the dash above the CD player (where hazards button is, See pick for example and FYI dont know if thats the interior of the car im getting)
I found a website that shows you what you need and how they do it but the switches are from overseas and would like to try find local ones.

Re: 2016 polo 1.5 TDI questions
Not sure where to get original blank switches but those blank outs are easy to modify so you can install a toggle switch of some sort.

Will look into that once i get the car, would be nice to buy extra "blanks" but dont know where to find the part numbersvee4410 wrote:Not sure where to get original blank switches but those blank outs are easy to modify so you can install a toggle switch of some sort.
Found a place that does different switches, just dont know what size the "blanks" are so have to wait till the car arrives.

Correction, it is not a Polo 1.5 but rather a 1.6 TDI.

Re: 2016 polo 1.5 TDI questions
Get some hazard switches from vw. Will fit in one of the blank locations.... just sand back the coating and get stickers made to represent what it is you want to switch on....

Re: 2016 polo 1.5 TDI questions
Led bar is illegal to use on any public road at any time of the day.Wesleydn wrote:Im brand new to VW and this is my first VW. I did search a bit on the forums for this answer but couldn't find it, if there is an answer please link me to it.

I found a website that shows you what you need and how they do it but the switches are from overseas and would like to try find local ones.

Its not for use during the day.. hence why i want them on a separate switch and not connected to my brights.Kavi4GP wrote: Led bar is illegal to use on any public road at any time of the day.
