Feeling Welcome Already :)

Post by GershVRSix »

Good Morning fellow VW owners :)

So I have been trying to find a local active Volkswagen forum, and so glad I found VWClubSA.
I am new to the forum, and hope they stay will be a good one.

I have been owing and 1997 Golf VR6 Executive for 5 years now and even after these years I am still as in love as the day I got it, however this past Saturday 22 July I took ownership of my second baby - a 2007 Polo GTi and must say I am loving it.

Not sure if this is the right place to post a question, but so far the fuel consumption on the GTi seems to be way heavier and my VR6 on daily driving and open road on average speeds of 120-130kmh, is this normal?

So wishing you all a good day.

Regards
Gershon Adonis

PS - I will upload photos as soon as I know how LOL

Hello and welcome!

I've always loved a Voora! Pretty sure yours must be in mint condition. I'm guessing it's newfound love with the P-GTi and you're driving it a lot harder than you realise?

What are your consumption figures for both cars? Seeing as you just got the car you might want to give it a tank or two for things to normalize before making accurate comparisons.

Hi Reegz

Thanks for the kind words,

So after speaking to a friend of mine, who travels with me, he explained to me the reason being is, I need to change the way I drive the polo as it is a turbo car, and not n\a as the vrsix. Therefor I kept out of boost range en calmed down a bit(its quiet hard to haha) and sure enough the consumption decreased a lot.

Guess I was making assumptions a bit to early lol

Use postimage bud. Photocrapbucket has taken all pics hostage, for 3rd party sharing. They want dollars.
