New Member - Hi

Post by LevanM »

Hello

I was advised by a good friend to join this community and learn a little

I am currently responsible for 2 VW's
1. 2002 Polo Playa 1.6i AC Version
2. 2017 Polo TSi CL Beats

History on the said VW's:
1. Belongs to my SO and has been modded by CPi Johannesburg. From what I recall, the following was done:
Head Work - Sent to 8v Performance
276 Estes Cam
Vernier Pulley
2.3/2.1 Pistons (I think they were Autoquip)
2L Steel Crank (I always assumed all Cranks were made of Steel)
CPi Chip
210mm Flywheel
Something about a Clutch being changed also.

Since the Motor was done, I had the guys also install new Water Pump, Oil Pump, Water Pipes ETC.
Some time ago, we had the Power Steering Pump replaced because it was causing a winding noise (Which is still there but not so loud) and some of its piping as it was leaking.

I had to replace the battery yesterday :bang: left the key in the car with the radio on one afternoon and killed a cell

Currently, the car has a Oil Leak and has never made the Power that Preshen (CPi) and I expected. I think it did 70wkw  and we were hopping for +-90wkw when we started the build.
It seems to over fuel (Smell fuel when idling and is a little heavy on the juice)
Also can't seem to get past 160km/h on the private race track :fear: and takes some time to get there after passing 120km/h
*Currently looking into doing some work on the car to get it 100%

2. I got the Polo new in February and had VW Springs (Eibach), Mudflaps (Front and Rear), Rubber Mats and a 35\20 Smash and Grab Done.
After a month or so of owning the car I had it sent to Durban to my sister.

Previous VW's:
2012 Golf 6 GTi
2016 Golf 7 GTi PP
2016 Golf 7 GTi Clubsport (Sold to my Dad so still in the family  )

Previous Car's:
1995 Toyota Corolla 1.3 4Speed
1996 Toyota Conquest 180RSi +Vat
1997 BMW E36 325i +Vat
2012 Opel Corsa UTE 1.4i A/C
2003 Audi S3 +Vat
2007 BMW E86 Z4MC (Miss her the most)
2012 Hyundai i10 1.25i Fluid Auto (RIP, My dad had a small write off with her and the Audi won)

Current Car:
2013 BMW F20 M135i +Vat

I have not added work and changes to the other cars as they are Ex's and not VW's.

I will add photos soon

Thanks for reading :violin:

Hi Sebz

Thanks for the welcome.

I will read over the rules now

I will post up my M135i, quick question before I do. On the GTi Forum I did this and the owner (MJP) threatened to Ban me as I posted items that are not from one of the Forum Advertisers  But is this an issue here?

I'll keep quiet regarding the GTi Club of Northern Gauteng club/forum. But, there are rules on this forum regarding selling/advertising as an indivdual as well as a company or for profit, which you should familiarise yourself with. If anything is unclear, get hold of one the committee members who are always willing to clear things up.

Hi

I was not posting to profit or sell anything but did a Rave on the parts I had paid for and fitted to my car from a supplier that was not an advertiser which was an issue.

I will do a build thread on my car and keep within the rules here. I just wanted to clear the air first.
