hi everyone looking for ABF motor in kwazulu natal

Post by lamantuswa »

Hi everyone

Just registered on the forum, I've been reading some conversations are interesting also informative.

I'm based in Pietermaritzburg

I drive a 97 polo classic 1.8, currently the car is at the panel beaters, a cousin of mine decided to hit a taxi instead of taking the bend properly.

Two things I just want to do with the car when it returns
1. power
2.get BBS- CH rims

That's why I joined the forum I need help with finding these 2 things.

colleague of mine suggested I buy a ABF 2.0l 16v engine, so I googled it and saw that its a very powerful engine, but been searching for one I cant find it around PMB.

would really appreciate any help in finding this engine at a reasonable price.

BBS CH rimz I think they are the hottest rimz eva, been looking everywhere for them but been only finding 19inch, and I think they toooo big for a polo. but I'm still on the mission to find the right size.

Thank you

everyone

Greetings!!

Can't help you with the engine in Debben but you could try Jab Sport to hook you up with CH reps.

Now that I think about it, you'd probably enjoy a 2l ADY in that shape more than the ABF.

You can try Engine Center Imports, they're just down the road from Gearbox center. Be prepared to spend alot though, last time i checked in december i was quoted R18 000.
And when i say be prepared to spend alot, I wasn't talking about engine price
You'll need to address :
ECU/Mapping(Aftermarket or MP9)
Bigger clutch/flyweel
A branch and exhaust system
Consumables
And anything else that needs to be replaced on said motor
I wouldn't risk just putting a 110kw engine in a Polo 6n without doing something about Suspension, brakes and chassis
This has been discussed to death on this forum there's over 100 topics about the ABF conversion
I see you are in PMB, give D&S Auto a shout they've done many ABF conversions and can guide you on what to do
If you're in control, you're not going fast enough!

Agreed with Yeo. I've seen a Polo playa with an ABF and it was quick, but like Yeo said it was a pricey build.

You can try Jaco's engine imports in Durban. They on Brickhill road near the Durban ICC.
