Welcome to the forum

I don't understand when you say your Velociti is a Carburettor, not unless it was converted or bushed.
Gear changing, is it all gears?

It's the little things that make them run right. Anybody can slap a basic bottom end together. that is the easy bit. It's all the little things that makes these builds a success or not.

Hi sorry about the misunderstanding on my part
It is in fact injected. I am not clued up about the mechanics at all but have been learning as I go along. Anyway Gears are a much smoother after replacing the ball and socket thing for the gears.

Hi, I need some help.
I have bought a 2nd hand VW velociti 1.4i.
4months back
Mileage 176 000km

I have done full service, replaced various part on suspension, new battery, removed cone filter and put a std air box. I have also used Wynns injector cleaners.

I smell petrol when I drive. when in motion car stutters a bit at low rpm but never cuts out and
At high acceleration when I am attempting to slow down by taking foot of accelerator engine whines and rattles car at high speed. Idle is erratic rpm fluctuations and I have to fill a pint oil every 2weeks oil found around area of breather pipe where it connects to engine

Please help!!!

Also how do I get it to sound like a velociti again???

Hello and welcome! Suggest you get your car checked out by panic mechanic (he's here on the forum).

What did the okes who serviced your car have to say about it?

Hope you get your Velo sorted. They're really decent cars.
